We would like to invite you to an ESOF2004 Briefing Day, at Norra Latin, in Stockholm. The briefing will take place on 20 May 2003, between 9.00 AM and 3.00 PM.

The Gastelgandolfo Declaration
The International Board of Euroscience met at Castelgandolfo 8-9 February 2003 and called on all the governments of Europe to support EuroScience Open Forum in Stockholm, 25 – 28 August 2004. Read more in The Gastelgandolfo Declaration.
Kick Off
A Kick Off was held for EuroScience Open Forum 2004 in May 17, 2002 in Stockholm.
The aims of the event were to inform decision makers and organisations about the preparations of the meeting 2004, and to engage the scientific community, society organisations and industry in the event.
Among the speakers were:
- Carl Cederschiöld, Mayor of Stockholm.
- Philip Campbell, Chief Editor, Nature.
- Jean-Patrick Connerade, President, Euroscience.
- Madeleine Leijonhufvud, Deputy Director General, The Swedish Research Council.
- Jürgen Rosenbaum, Head, Information & Communication Unit, DG research European Commission.
- Hans Wigzell, President, Karolinska Institutet, Scientific Adviser to the PM.
